Things to do at Christmas in Lisbon and the surrounding area
Every year in the capital of Portugal more and more Christmas and New Year events are held, including fairs, concerts, enchanting shows for children and adults. The end of 2019 was no exception. The tour operator “Lusitana Sol” has compiled a list of the most spectacular events for December and early January.
Entertainment for adults and children
A number of celebrations are held exclusively in the last month of the outgoing year for several days or one or two weeks, but there are those that last much longer. They are not dedicated to Christmas and New Year, but will be interesting to foreign tourists who want to see and learn as much as possible in Portugal.
Pop art stars
On September 24th, the Cordoaria Nacional Museum opened the Pop Art Stars exhibition, dedicated to several art directions in the art of Great Britain, which have been developing since the 50s of the last century.
Lisbon Exhibition of paintings 122 works are exhibited, including iconic pop art artists Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg and Roy Lichtenstein.

Cascais christmas village
In Cascais for Christmas The Cascais Theme Village, A Journey to the Magic of Christmas, opens its doors for the fourth time in a row to receive guests in the Pai Natal Universe – Portuguese Santa Claus – at Parque Marechal Carmona em Cascais for 27 days.
For every day from December 5 to January 1, an interesting entertainment program has been compiled for guests of all ages.
The gates are open from 11:00 to 20:00.

View of the New Year Lisbon Ferris Wheel in the Park of Eduardo VII will allow you to admire the festive city from the top until January 5. Entrance to Eduardo VII Park, where the Christmas Village is open, is free.

Reino do natal
Christmas in SintraSintra is presented to the guests by the Snow Kingdom, surprising with magnificent decorations of enormous size, and attracting an ice rink, theater performances, vibrant Christmas fairs.
The holiday will last until January 6th.
Capital do natal
Near Lisbon, in the town of Alges (Passeio Marítimo de Algés), in December a village was opened where you can feel at the North Pole. In a huge tent every day it snows, and the unique “Express Train of Five Senses” allows you to see, hear, feel, smell and taste everything that is in the realm of Pai Natal. You can plunge into a fairy tale until January 12.

Enchanting circus shows are planned at the Coliseu (Coliseu de Lisboa) in December from the 14th to the 26th. It will be interesting to adults and children.
